Sorry, it's been awhile since I posted any updates, finally got the engine painted and reassembled, work somehow keeps getting in the way! I put it in the boat yesterday, I was going to take it over to my buddies shop and use his forklift but I decided to give the old engine hoist a try. Went in after some grunting but I had enough height. I really should have had another troop to help me out, but went for it anyway. Pretty tuckered out yesterday, but it's in and I'm getting everything reconnected. Spring seems to already have arrived here in NW Florida so pressure is on to get her put back together. I ran into some pitting when I took the lower unit impeller off and have put up a seperate post looking for any advice. Posting some pictures below of the engine going in. As soon as I get the carb rebuilt I'll fire the old girl up, pretty anxious.

Looks good. I'm late to the party, but I'll follow along.

Haven't posted in awhile since I have been fighting with a starter, think I got it licked and put the engine back in the boat. If you're interested I had a seperate post looking for a solution. Here is the link.

Also have been slowly refurbing the outdrive and also had a spost on that looking for some advice on some pitting near the water pump. Hope things start moving a bit quicker and now I should be ready to fire up the engine shortly and start tackling the interior.

Replace all the upper and lower seal in the outdrive and blended in the repairs to the skeg and fins from the abuse the fella I got the boat from must have subjected the boat to. Surprizing enough no bent shaft or damage inside, need to do a pressure test next. Used zinc primer, black base coat followed by several coats of clear for protection, looks a lot better.
