Took her out on the Red, ran good for about 5 mins, 42mph, then would not run faster than 12 mph bogs down, think its a carb problem, we installed new plugs, plug wires, compression is 120 on all four,

Yah. Years ago I had the same symptoms on my Bass Tracker with a 50HP Merc. Ran great then started bogging down. Then I realized that I'd not unscrewed the vent on the steel gas tank. Silly me.

My son repairs props for marine dealers, we were dropping off some repaired props yesturday and I asked the owner if he by chance had any used curved windshields and he happened to have one, going to have to make the center window smaller but should work great $250.00 Canadian.

Dry fitted the new windshield, fits perfect don't have to cut down the center window.

Thanks guys, going to use the old windshield for my son's 1984 SS18 rebuild looks a bit better than his current windshield cause the V5 has some curve to it.
