Hi all I'm really trying to look as nice as your back yard joe schmoe possibly can. I'm using McGuire's dioxidizer/ polisher all in one compound I'm thinking is absolute magic. I'm using a random orbital buffer from harbor freight as well. To finish it off I'm using a star rite wax I bought from Walmart. I love the mcguire's stuff but the starbrite wax seems incredibly runny. Is this normal? What would you guys suggest to put over the polish if my cheap starbrite isnt up to the task?

Ardex ocean polymer is in my opinion the best wax. It is expensive for a reason and worth every penny.

I'm currently doing the exact same thing to my 84 Stratos with glitter flake.
Started by wet sanding from 180 to 400 to 600 to 800 to 1000 grit to remove that dull oxidation.
Then bought el cheapo turtle wax in four stages
rubbing compound, polishing compound, carnuba cleaner wax.....its time consuming for sure...
Same buffer as you....
4 hours later I couldn't believe my eyes as that beautiful glossy glittery look was returning.
4hrs on one side. Still have other side and interior to do. But it went from dull and feeling like sandpaper to fairly shiny and super smooth!
Check out my posts tomorrow for before and after shots.

There's also a thread about a guy who done the same thing, it's in the forum, but it's gonna take a more experienced user to point you towards it.
