And what a difference between 20 mph and 37mph I bet. What kind of fuel burn are you expecting with that motor/weight combo?

Emoney, i wont be "cruising" at that speed, boat feels really good at around 27 and i i know i can load a couple people on it and maintain that , before with 4 cyl and me alone 21 was all i could get and 17 is plane for this hull/ weight , i i ha a 15.5x18 prop coming to try but i know im just splitting hairs with this,mainly im trying to get it to a 4900 max wot , atm it will still easily go to 6 grand and i dont know that a alpha outdrive can handle those rpms. As far as fuel goes i have tested it for 3 days and gas gauge hasnt moved much so im suspecting it wont be too bad with fuel injection.

you want to keep your RPM's below 5500 on an alpha..... the stock oiling cant keep up much beyond that unless you work on the drive

i just found a way to limit to 5000 i figure there is no reason to go over and the extra 500 safety net:) thanks Scott i figured it was around 5000

You have hp tuners suite. Set rev limit at 5grand and even if you drop a prop you will be safe

yeah took me some time to figure that out and traction control and torque management but i have the latter turned off and dfco is 5100 and 5000 so it should work like a charm:)

2159 1990 trophy hard top, my boat weighs 5700 lbs ls3 300 hp engine fuel injected from 2002 tahoe using the 411 ecm , a 1.65 geared alpha 1 , my results for different props are this
15x15 turning point 4 blade 33 mph , blows out at 3800 rpm idle speed 2 mph @ 500 rpm
14x19 vengeance ss 33 blows out 33 mph around 3500 rpm
14.5x 21 turning point 4 blade 3900 rpm max and never got on plane and never did more then 10 mph at 3900
15x18 3 blade 34 mph @4300
16x16 elephant ear prop 36@ 4100 idle speed 6 mph
@1500 rpm around 2 to 3 mph @ 600 rpm
I can only figure this boats weight just screams for a large diameter prop, also this was not trimming and no trim tabs and a se300 hydrofoil.

Im Im pretty much accept this is it for this combination, im very please with cruising at 25 @ 3k and hoping if i drop trim tabs all the way down i can get 2 mph troll speed for calm day trolling in no current :) now just tiny punch list of minor things and uts complete , time to enjoy it!
