I moved the boat up to cold storage in the other garage I needed the space in the shop. I shot my buck last night and have the deer hanging in the shop, I will process the deer on Wednesday and move the boat back down over the weekend and get back to work.

Congrats! I missed a couple opportunities with the bow this year.

So I ended up hanging another deer in the shop so that delayed getting the boat back in there. I will be done organizing the shop tonight and moving the boat back in. I will be shipping off the lower unit have new bearings and seals installed. With the lower unit done it should be pretty much a new 1957 Mercury 55.

Well time to update I got an e-mail about the lower unit I sent in for rebuild was rusted beyond repair, was lucky to find another lower unit on e-bay. I did not do a lot of work on the boat this winter, but I will play catch up. Hopefully in the water by June.

Sucks you had to get a different lower, but at least sounds like you're back in business

For sure...I have been waiting for more word on your project. Glad you were able to find a replacement lower.

Yeah well the replacement unit was misrepresented on e-bay not the correct year and thru prop exhaust, I did find yet another one and it will be at my place in a couple weeks.

Had more than one instance of that when I was rebuilding mine. Luckily I eventually got all the right parts
