Thanks Sam and Mike.

Today didnt really go as planned... I was anxious to try the BeauClips I ordered for the trim pieces in the bow.

I located the ball/socket initially with a # 40 bit..

Then opened the holes to 1/2 inch and screwed on the clips.

Looks pretty good except.... Big gap... there wasnt enough grip to pull the the straight board to the contour of the bow..... well Crap!!!!

Called Wog.... he suggested cut kerfs into the piece, so it can bend!!! Why the heck didnt I think of that!!! So I started over, made new backers with kerfs...

Much better...

Now the remade backers are getting several coats of "Old Time Formula"

So this kerf idea will work in many applications. I dont need any strength for theses bits. But if you did, you could clamp in place, fill the kerfs with peanut butter, sling some CSM on and let it kick.

That it for today...have a good rest of your weekend!!

Why didn't you put the kerfs on the back for the bend? Just wondering.

I debated either way... since I had a bunch of exposed core of the plywood from the kerfs, I thought it would be better for longevity if I had that to the inside, protected by the vinyl and foam.

Not sure if it will pan out that way or not but sounded reasonable in my brain.

Typically you want the kerfs on the inside but...As Cordell points out it will WORK either way. ;)

That is exactly how I made the curved seats for the MFG ... But I did put the kerfs on the outside .... It was fairly tight radius so it was easier to bend that way ...

Well, got back from vacation yesterday...it appears photobucket has my pix hostage... Ill be damned if Im forking over $400 to them!!!!

For you other guys that are hostage, what are you using? Ill be spending the next several hours downloading all of the pix from their website...

Rebuilding the threads will take considerably longer.

The bow seating turned out great.

Sucks about PB I've got to go back and redo the pics in my transom rebuild thread, my trailer thread, and my Stratos and Jupiter threads. Long process for sure but I have all the pics on my computer. I just have to resize them for upload. Thanks for taking the time to fix yours. It and your other threads are a wealth of information.
