Went to the shop. Nothing to do. It started cleaning the cup holders watching Charmed.

When I got done Icut the cupholders in the armrest side dealies. Sanded it all down.

Then it got serious. Dug the tank out took it apart. I mentioned it wasn't getting gas from the tank in a earlier post. Check ball was gummed up from ethenol. Soaked it in paint thinner all day while I cleaned.

I got the tank cleaned inside and out. Cleaned all the contacts. OHM'ed the gas gauge sender. Pressure tested the tank. Cleaned the liquid wood off of the tank and lines. Got to be what it was. Blackish wood colored and was gooey when I took it out. It was hardening into a bondo like state.

Got the rubber bumpers under the tank cleaned up. Check valve works perfect now. Assembled it all and put them in the completed parts pile.

I just noticed lousy pic half in the sun. Should have moved them into the shade or sun one.

Bubble roller came yesterday. My glass supplies are being held up by old Irma. Seems they were stuck in traffic. Now the doing what ups does best. Passing my house back and forth within a mile 4-5 times. It is supposed to get here monday night now. It is so close I could go pick it up in 20 minutes right now if they would let me. But it has to tour the eastern US first.

Yesterday I made a lower clamp out of all thread and 2X4's. And a drill guide for doing the gimbal holes.

I know waiting is harder than working. I guess I can clean and buff the rear of the boat. The part that is buried under the gimbal and swim deck. Get the swim deck ready to go back on polish it up.

I went to my buddy with the barn sized garage and the Bayliner yesterday. I did a alignment on his honda. We were shooting the bull on boats. He is one of the 2 involved in doing the restoration on my other buddies Chriscraft like I am doing. I know nobody seems to like bayliners. But his is the silver anniversary edition of it.

His first boat the 3 liter capri was what I learned to skii on back in the dinosaur days when I was 18. Wow that was a long time ago LOL. We spent alot of time on that boat back in the day.

I'm not sure either, the Bayliner boats got a stigma for being crap. Honestly my capri was less rotted than my Chap, and in stripping both hulls, the Bayliner had less questionable work. It's funny to me that all mass produced boats have the same issues, yet Bayliner get the bad rap. They were slightly cheaper in cost. Obviously the OMC power probably didn't help the reputation.

Anyway, it would be a good idea to change your fuel fill hose and vent line while you have everything apart. I have read that ethanol can break down older fuel hoses and cause them to leach gas. I had a strong smell of gas in my boat prior to changing my hose. It strongly smelled of gas on the outside of the rubber hose. Those hoses aren't cheap per foot, but honestly worth the investment.

I just cleaned wires in the boat today. Got the fiberglass dust off of the back of the gauges. You know make busy stuff.

Reason for the post is actually this. I guess I am a glutton for punishment. I met a guy who just got a boat. I didn't enjoy my duty as much as some seem to. But I was the messenger of doom.

It is a 91 and needs gutted. We talked and I explained what was up. I just been through it don't need a drill test to know. Gave him my number and I will help him if he calls. Told him about the forum. It has plywood over the carpet and everything. Don't think we need to dig deeper. I told him just get used to the idea. It got to be done.

So a little boat porn and probably my next itchfest.

Pretty much just bored waiting on UPS now. The boats pitot tube had the *** broke off where the hose hooked up. I sat and fixed that if that tells you anything. I tested the ol wishometer see if it actually worked. I found PSI and MPH that they should be.

Like I said I am bored. So all the gauges do work. I found the adjustment for the tach 4-6-8 switch. Just in case for future reference.

Is my junk here yet? Killin me. Should have been here friday.

If I had my resin I would be in your shoes. I am up now because I am used to doing the boat. And this is the only time I got to do it. My body wont sleep because this is my boat time in the schedule. Later work and lifes responsibilities kick in.

So I should rephrase it. I am bored during the boats alloted time slot . The wood staring at me why aren't you encapsulating me. Around noon to one I start running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Doing normal life stuff that supports having the boat.

I am about to check the tracking schedule. I got 2 boxes. The resin and the cloth and other things coming. Both are scheduled to be here today. Only one is showing progress. I am hoping it is a glitch and they didn't just pick one up when they were there.

Well that is a bummer. My cab-o-sil, csm and 1708 came but apparently they decided I don't need the resin. It is still in Florida. They picked up one box and left the one next to it.

They are not even open today because of the storm. So who knows when I will get the rest.

Hating life here on the ranch.

Hey actually you may be best to measure and cut all your pieces in the meantime. OMG that has got to be one of the messiest job I've done. Nothing top grinding Fiberglas, but this is up there. I've ruined a nice pair of jeans and probably my sandals in the process.

Yea my resin isn't lost in space anymore. I obviously was going the wrong way a while and not being tracked. It skipped a bunch of normal stops and magically appeared 100 miles from here. Some where it shouldn't be on the normal route. But it is now going to pass back and forth past my house a few times but at least it is on the way now. Probably a couple more days.

I am not sure what is up with UPS and their shenanigans. I wish summit racing sold the resin. Order from them and no matter where it is coming from it is here in less than 24 hours. Same shipping co. But use them for anybody else and it take a week and a half? What is up with that.

Well maybe whining helped. It seems to be on the fast track now. They said it is scheduled to be here today now. I guess they had a moment of clarity and said WTF this is way late. It has hit 3 stops in the last 4 hours. It isn't just sitting somewhere now.

Sounds like my kids waiting to open their Christmas present :).

That is what the admiral says to. I am down here cutting the pieces as you suggested. Then rolling them up in painters plastic. Labeling where they all go. Then stacking them on the work bench.

That 1708 is like steel compared to the chopped strand. My boat had none of that in it originally. This is definately gonna toughen her up.

Resin just got here as i was finishing for the day.

And thanks to vietcu's suggestion I didn't waste a day. Waiting for the resin while I could have been doing what I been doing all morning. Thank you. You were the voice of reason when I was so wound up I couldn't see straight.

I got all the csm and 1708 cut for the transom and tabbing.

It is raining now and I need to get in the boat for making the keel and bulkhead pieces. It is time anyway. I got other things I got to do now. I have used the boats time allotment and now it is back to reality stuff.

I can see right now unless I want a court marshall and a good keel hauling after that. I better do this outside and not in the garage. Wow the smell of fiberglass was strong inside the box. I didn't even open the bucket just the box.

And at least one pic. The transom spread out with the csm on it after being cut.
