No need to let it completely dry between primer coats. I would think you would need to let the primer completely dry prior to spraying the top coat.

Process...Light coating of SE primer on ALL bare aluminum spots, 5 minutes later first coat of Bare Metal Primer. 30 minutes later 2nd coat of Bare metal primer. 2 hours later light wet sanding of primer using 220 grit. Wipe down with acetone and 15 minutes later shoot first coat of Paint. Rattle can is NOT ideal for a long lasting paint. If you have a compressor, a cheap harbour Freight HVLP gun and some Rustoleum Pro Oil Based paint with some added acrylic enamel hardener will give you a Much Longer lasting finish. If you use rattle can then you have a 30-45 minute window between coats of paint. If you use the Oil Based paint with a gun you should shoot additional coats within 1-3 hours.

will continue the project a little more as i have purchased a near lake ready boat now, have a buyer for this project now.
