I guess its a matter of the look u like, I think the matte may look more original....but the gloss may make it easier to clean out the nooks and crannies....

I would go gloss too. IMHO it would be a shame to hang a matte finish motor behind that beautiful glossy wood hull.

Yeah, may as well go with the gloss .. Seems to be the consensus...
Still working on the prop from time to time . Have gone from 120 to 2000 so far just sanding ..Haven’t put the buffing wheel on it yet... probably use some Brasso or Mother’s on it too ..

Almost ready to apply the decals .. about half the pieces clearcoated now . The other half has the color on them . The only thing left to prep and paint is the tiller handle . Not planing on using it but gunna paint it anyway .
I’ve never put on a big decal like this before . Hope it goes smoothly ..

Thanks Scott , Mike ! This is a pretty large waterslide decal ..
I see the potential of tearing it to shreds during the installation. LOL!!
I’ve been getting some help over at the AOMCI on it ..
Fingers crossed on a good outcome !

Got the big decal set . Me and my son .. Everything was going good until a slight reposition made a small 1inch long tear through the E in Evinrude. Not to bad but you see about a 1/16” slit of the gray paint on the slice . Just enough for me to say a few choice words ! :mad-new: The dogs had to put their paws on their ears !
Maybe I can color it in with a green and gray sharpie before I clear over it . Idk ..

I think I may try and lightly touch up with some green paint before I clear coat it ..
Other than that I’m pretty pleased with it .. Got the rest of the pieces clear coated . Should be able to start putting it all back together in a few days after it cures a bit more ..
