I've used Pettit horizons 1850 bottom paint on my boat for 15 years. I did once change to a different one I think it was the triad but not sure but it started to peel in spots so I never changed from the Pettit 1850 again.
It's getting harder to find and more expensive to use this 1850.

My question does anyone know of a cheaper and same kind of product this I can use and go fight over existing petit 1850 without it peeling?

Thanks in advance

You can also call any of the paint manufacturers and get advice on what will work, then look up the prices for the different vendors.

Pettit 1850 is an Ablative Bottom paint. It's my understanding that these paints are designed to "Wear away" over time Not sure if this is what you're seeing. I assume since you're using it this is a Saltwater boat???

I know a few members who think this a an excellent Ablative Paint system...

What is good to use for fresh water boats? I have a 1988 sea ray seville and am in the middle of a complete restoration. I have cracks in the gel coat underneath the boat I have to grind out and fill with gel paste. What would you recommend?
