Are you sure it's paint and not gelcoat??

Not 100% but it chips away like paint and I've read they used Imron back then and still do to this day. There's a hump between the blue and the white. It jumps up and you can feel it with your finger. Can't see it with the naked eye though

Port floor and forward bulkhead removed. New stringer made. instead of two sheets of 1/'2 ply not even connected it is now 1.25" of core fully bonded. The starboard most piece of core is just to suck the first piece against the thin sheet of factory glass near the tank.

Remade the gas tank cover in core and packed the edges. 34.25 x 55". Also cleaned the convertable top / screened room thing that goes over the back of the boat. Freed up 2/3 zippers on one then have to do the same to the other side I don't really see me ever using the top in FL and obviously they have never been used. It's too involved to put up in a sudden storm.

We installed a new Rule 2000GPH massive bilge pump just in case. The floor is done for the year!! It will be painted tomorrow then when I get back from vacation the seats will go in the motor mount will be drilled and bolted down, second battery goes back in, battery selector gets remounted then the rear seat and sun deck go in and I'm DONE!

... For this year

Nice bilge pump! What size discharge hose does it require? You're getting close, almost done. :thumb:

3/4" discharge. Seems a bit small for that size bilge but I'm sure they know what they're doing :) Floor is done

Crappy picture but the seats are in and the storage locker is back in. I'll get better pictures after I water test it today then put the rear seat back in. The brand new faria temp gauge does not work. DOA :( ALMOST done

Good luck and have FUN! Congrats!

Thank you.

We took it out today and it went 48 in 2ft chop and 30mph winds. Pretty disappointing as I figured with the weight drop and new motor it would be 55mph all day long. Oh well I'll dig into that next year. It handled the waves beautifully, rode great and steered perfect. it came out like I wanted. I only have to mount the cooler as the new seat base and a few other small random tasks. I am also pretty sure there is a restriction in the starboard riser.

All I can say is you did it! Way to go! You can always work out the kinks when and if it's not in the water this summer. ;)

Thanks. I was just really hoping for 55ish but it's nothing a 383 won't cure. Maybe in two years. For now I'll have a ton of fun with it! You can't hear the water through the hull at all. It's nice and quiet once the exhaust shuts up.

Back together with the cooler as the seat base for the lounge seat. The picture makes it look super small but it's very roomy. I also have a new Merc Enertia Eco 19 on the way. It will completely change the boat and probably gain me 4 or so mph since I'm on the limiter now after all the work that's been done. Hope I chose the right prop!

I like the set up. It looks like a very good use of space, and having a designated space for the cooler to go is nice. :thumb:

New Eco Prop in. I took pics next to the old Vengance and the old Mirage One Plus. Big difference. The diameter and cupping of the enertia are nice. It has a decent rake too. It's like they pulled some secrets from the race props and dumped them into a good all arounder.

All these props are 19s

I lost about 5mph and 400 RPMs with the enertia ECO even though it's the same pitch. I gained about 4mph at cruise which for me is 2800-3K. I gained a ton of low speed control and it jumps to plane much faster. I can't comment on chop because there was none but it also turns better. I filled the tank so 200RPMs is probably from that.

I guess it's worth the trade off. After I swap the OEM iron manifolds for GRE aluminum, stainless silent choice risers and an edelbrock aluminum intake I should gain my 200-300rpms back.
