yamaha multifunction fuel

I have read forums on this. To hooked up the fuel guage on 1992 multifunction guage,I need to hook only the the single fuel sender wire from tank to the white wire on guage.I dont have yamaha sender.Is this correct? Also,is it ok to keep original guage in line,between the two. Thank you

your correct but you can only run one gauge per sender. VDO may make a conveter for single sender twin gauge applications. email VDO's tech department. never seen one but the list of things I never saw seems to grow daily.I think the white/blue wire was for a yam sender.
