    Blue (choke)
    White.(ignition stop circuit)

the new key switch? On the new key switch is the both black going to be ground?

Are you sure you bought a swtich with choke?? many swtiches dont have it.

two black wires? no stripes? well some boats have two ground wires, one comes from the battery (-) and the other one is the boat ground, usually one is for accesories and the other one for the kill switch.

    my two cents

Can I hook the blue wire (choke) to any other color wire on my new switch?
Is it possible to hook the blue wire (choke) to yellow wire (Key On power)
will that work for my choke?
Will the motor run if I don't hook the blue wire up?

    Thanks

If the switch doesn't have the push-to-choke feature you cannot activate the choke on the engine. You cannot hook it to any other position. You will have trouble starting the engine because the choke is needed for cold starts. The engine will run without it but will be difficult to start when cold.

Any aftermarket starter switch will work at longest as it has the "push to choke" feature. When you go to the store ask for it that way or if you are buying on line make sure it is specified as "push to choke"

Dont you have a manual choke in the motor?, if so you can use the switch you have without the "push to choke" feature, just DO NOT connect the blue wire anywhere, you will need to use the manual choke to start the motor.

My old key switch had a push in choke I think. Everytime I push it in I dont hear any clicking sound. I just turn the key and it fire up. I dont think there any manul choke on my engine. If there is do you know where it at? How do you manully choke the engine.

    I believe it a 1996 or 1997 or mid 90's
    90HP yamaha o/b

    Thanks
