    Default yamaha fuel/water separating filter

MY 10 micron filter is stuck, I can't get it to move. If I apply anymore pressure it will snap/break. should I just buy a new unit ? This is the last part to my spring prepping and the only problem I've had

Please advise if there is a some trick to freeing it, I've even tried to tap on the top like you would with a jar that wouldn't open
    many thanx

Try an oil filter wrench to remove it....a touch of outboard motor oil on the filter, gasket and threads might help prevent this in the future, and no real need to over-tighten it, as there's no pressure there. In fact I just tighten mine by hand, just like the oil filter on the car. Good luck and I hope/doubt your filter base will snap/break...if it does, then you'll need a new unit.
