    Default Yamaha Fuel Management Sensor

I purchased a boat several months ago with twin Yamaha 2000 200 HP OX66's & digital Yamaha gauges. The boat has two fuel tanks. At the time of the sea trial the previous owner showed me that there were three bars of fuel in the front tank and only one bar in the rear tank. I was told by the surveyor not to fill the low tank until I splashed the boat. I just did that yesterday. i filled the low tank at that time.

I am only getting one bar of fuel and it is blinking. Is it possible that I need to reset this somehow or can it be detecting something else?

Also, I don't know how to use the gauge settings to get to see the fuel level in the other tank. I looked at the Yamaha owners manual and it says nothing else other than to consult your local Yamaha dealer.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Also, one other quick question. Which gauge is the ecternal fuel water seperator alarm set to?

    Thanks,

    Peter

One other quick question (looks like that I am highjacking my own post). How do I drain my Racor fuel filters?

ok...you should only be using 10 micron filters with that motor and you don NOT drain them, you throw them away...this isn't an old 'rude....your gauge probably isn't the problem on the fuel level end...the sender in tank is just a regular fuel sender...open access hatch and ground the positive lead with key on and gauge should peg out(all bars), there is a time delay so wait 10 seconds before removing ground....if gauge pegs out, sender is probably bad if there is a good ground to fuel tank....if gauge still doesn't work then we'll check wires and gauge, but probably sender...cheap....oh, by the way, don't think you'll have 2nd tank on that gauge...unless somebody 'rigged' it up with some kinda switch...
