working on a f100lra that went swimming and then sat for a while. salt had corroded the #4 carb butterfly shaft and after soaking it for a couple of days i damaged the shaft beyond repair trying to free it up. the rest of the carb is in very good condition. yamaha does not offer the shaft in its parts breakdown, and a new carb is almost &300.00. what do i do?
Welcome to iboats. This is a longshot, but Mercury uses some Yamaha powerheads and that is one of them. You might check with a Mercury dealer. But if it's not available from Yamaha, I doubt it's available from Merc. Like I said, it's a longshot.
Hey, Have you seen? They make Really Cool life preservers nowadays.
So "Looking Dorky" is no longer an excuse for not wearing one.
You could also try looking for the same type/size carb on bikes. That carb (and motor) no doubt, you will be able to find in a slightly different setup on Yamaha motorbikes. And the carb, you will probaly find on other jap bikes as well. Just guessing, but I'd try bike salvage yards. Hope it helps.
