Problem is digital guage indicates (according to service manual) there is a problem with the trim sensor or oil level in main tank. Drained oil from main tank and it refills in about 3 min and shuts off. Everything seems to work but the guage is giving a warning.Checked the sending unit in the main oil tank and it checks good according to the manual. The trim sensor has a reading of 0 to 224, manual says it should be 582 to 873 ohms between the black & pink. The manual says the trim sensor should have 4 wires, Black pink gray orange. The sensor and the new sensor from the dealer has 3 wires, black pink gray. Tried 3 different trim sensors from the dealer and they all read 0 to 224. Is manual wrong? Bringing the boat to a mechanic but was hoping for a possible solution. Thanks
hello what warning are you getting on the gauge and does the trim part, the bars at the far right side, work?the sender has 3 wires, the gray wire is in the harness from the engine to the gauge and is a visual signal for the overheat visual alarm if you have it. the gray wire has nothing to do with trim send. so back to the indicators. what visual is your tach displaying?

What visual is your tach displaying? 3 bars, middle one flashing, service manual says check trim sender or oil level in main tank. The trim part, the bars at the far right side, do work. Thanks
check your dipswitch settings. pretty sure the symbol flashing you describe has bupkiss to do with the trim sensor. tilt the engine full up and activate the sender by hand and watch the guage. this at least will narrow it down for you.
helo the middle bar flashing indicates the remote tank is low. has the gauge always worked correctly or is this a new gauge. if it always worked before it is probably not a switch setting. with 3 bars its set for 2 stroke. 4 stroke only displays 2 bars. the visual indicator shows the switch for the remote tank is open indicating low oil. the fact that the oil will transfer can mean somethings. the system wont transfer oil if the control module "see's" the signal that the remote tank is low. so if it transfers oil the control module is sensing the correct signals. check the harness from the engine to the tach for open circuits. the wire will be green with a red stripe and the other is green with a stripe color I cant remember. one is for the engine oil tank warning the other is for the remote tank warning. with the remote tank full it sends a ground signal to the tach to keep the three bars lit. when the signal disapears it flashes the middle bar and stops oil transfer. but as you say the transfer is working the switch is working. I think you have lost the signal to the tach.look for opens on the oil control harness from the engine to the gauge.
