Yamaha 115 hp 4 stroke fuel problem

@ idle boat runs great, but when i throttle up engine seems to act like it is running out of fuel,this happend 3 times last time outbut ran smothly rest of time. checked the fuel/water seperator and was clean.i heard that there is a small screen in the high volume fuel pump, the one i cant get to without being a tech.or is there another ave i can try before taking to shop. ethenol gas has been used for the past 6 monthsand heard this crap pretty much starts to clean the fuel tank which inturns runs thru the expensive stuff. thanks for any help

If you are looking for answers you need to supply better information.
Has the engine been winterised? I don't know where you live so this may not be applicable.
Is your tank made of fiberglass?How old are the hoses?

Has the engine been maintained? If so how many hours? Has the ethanol gas been treated on every fill up?

Has the ethanol gas ever been mixed with non ethanol gas?-the operative word is "ever"

How fresh is the gas? When was the last time you really filled up.
How fresh is the source of the gas? ( now adays you should fill up at "busy " gas stations only. )

we also need a model number as there is also a filter between the lift pump and the vapor seperator and on 06 and up models its a 10 micron one.
when was the last VST maint?
if you look at the maint schedule it may be due.

Hi Damien,

I have a simular outboard with miss during the first 10 mins of operation - then goes away completely. - did you ever get to the bottom of this problem. I've seen 3 yamaha dealers and it's got them all stumped.
