    Default Suzuki 140 4-stroke

Can someone give me some poitive AND negative feedback on this motor. What does this cost (estimate) for motor, controls, installation, etc - soup to nuts - mounting on a 19 ft mako (25").

Doug.I have heard nothing but glowing praise for this engine from the people who have one or two, either the Johnon or Suzuki versions.Suzuki has earned a reputation for being very slow to come up with parts, but I have had no trouble with my 70, so that is just a rep.I believe that the DF140 is lighter and cheaper than the Opti 135, and would expect comparable performance.I would buy one from the Johnson dealer because I have higher confidence that Bombardier would back it with parts and service.Good luck.

Actually JB I think just the opposite! Having just bought twin 140's(being mounted as we speak!)I bought them from Suzuki because I heard the Bombardier parts network was very slow. I also looked into the Ficht and was told the same thing. Hopefully the mechanic was right that he can get whatever he needs ASAP but, knock on wood, has had very little problem with these. Cost ran me 18k for two, installed, all new controls/wiring/harnesses/tach/SS prop/counter rotating.

I believe either will work, Musky.I do know that all parts are interchangable. My DF70 Suzi uses the same fuel connectors as the JohnnyRudes and could use JohnnyRude controls. etc.Good luck.
