Can the data from the Yamaha F150 be accessed directly by a NMEA 2000 compatible system such as the LowranceNet? I'd like to be able to display/monitor the fuel useage rate the the engine on my LMS332. A Yamaha rep showed me the two wires that connect up to the the Yamaha CommandLink. He said the data is locked and accessible only via a CommandLink setup which runs over $1,000If the F150 is truly NMEA 2000 compatible I would think I could connect it directly to the Lowrance Network.
I believe I recall them saying that you can at the last dealer update seminar, but you need more than just those two wires. Something about a power wire and something else. That's when memory fades to black. Must've nodded-off.
Hey, Have you seen? They make Really Cool life preservers nowadays.
So "Looking Dorky" is no longer an excuse for not wearing one.
nope a GPS can be added to the command link but the ECU on the engine cannot be accessed without command link, yet. but there are yamaha and aftermarket fuel flow meters.you can buy the sensor for your lowrance and install it in the fuel line.
no tech questions by PM, they wont get answered.
you have to be trusted by the people that you lie to .
I have a lowrance also and the whole NEMA 2000 thing is barely off the ground at this point Even lowrance only has 4 sensors that work at this point and there are pretty regular software updates to get things working as well as thay should.I think in about a year it will be much inproved tommays
