Electrical Problem with No Tach or Starting 225 TXRP
I am hoping someone can steer me in the right direction here. I have a 1991 Yamaha 225 TXRP that I am having an issue with. It started a few trips ago when I would be getting up to speed, I would lose my digital tach and the engine would bog down. It would not actually shut off but would slow right down. While the tach was gone I couldn't start the engine. No clicks, no ticks, nada. The tach would come back on in a minute or so. It has got progressively worse. No I have it back in my driveway and have no tach in turn I can't start it either. All wires to the engine (POS + NEG) are new. I have two new batteries. All of my house electronics (Fish finder, GPS, radio, lights, etc) work just fine.

somewhere between the battery, engine block, stater relay and your keyswitch something failed either a bad wire or a bad connection.
that engine will run without a battery, wont run well but it wil run.
no tech questions by PM, they wont get answered.
you have to be trusted by the people that you lie to .
