    Default 2007 yamaha 115 4 stroke

I am trying to sell a boat that I bought new in 2007,the motor doesn't even have 10 hours on it . I broke it in the way dealer told me too. when the buyer wanted a compression test done on it by his dealer the test came up low compression (#1 cylinder came up 150 #2 190 #3 190 #4 190 . It runs so nice and never had any issue? is this possible. they say a leak down test was done on cylinder #1 and it cam up 60% leaking . The warranty ended last July. Is Yamaha just a junky motor ? or does this sound fishy?and if this is real what kind of expense it this to have someone fix it?

My guess is that the motor is just not broken in completely and the piston rings and valves may not be seated thoroughly on #1 cylinder. Maybe suggest this to your prospective buyer and invite him to the lake for a sea trial with the boat/motor to demonstrate and convince him of the motor's good health. Maybe he's trying to find some fault with your motor so he can offer you less money?Otherwise, find another buyer. Good Luck!

What did the leak down test show?
leaking by piston, exhaust, or intake valves?

Maybe if it was leaking by the piston rings the cylinder has stuck rings or rusted cylinder walls from sitting for years without running. All motors need to be run from time to time to coat the shiny surfaces with oil. Take it to your Yamaha shop and have them check it out to see what is wrong and how much it will cost to fix

well I took it to my yamaha dealer and he said 1st cylinder was 219 2nd 220 3rd 220 4th 220 he said compression was good but does need some maintenance work, new plugs ,oil filter, lower unit grease change , and to run a cleaner through motor to clean out some carbon from not running enough. he also said it needs to be recalibrated to. other then that he said motor looks good. thanks

To get an accurate compression on a 4 stroke throttle plates need to be wide open. Compression=blood pressure test. Leak down=EKG test.
DO YOU HAVE: GOOD COMPRESSION, PROPERLY TIMED SPARK, PROPER FUEL AIR MIXTURE?
