2005 Yamaha 2-stroke sputters and stalls after10 seconds unless in Emergency mode
I am having a problem with my 2005 Yamaha 90 2-stroke and wonder if anyone may be able to help.
Quite a while back I discovered that I couldn't get on plane. I was remodeling, and figured I'd get back to it "soon", but most of the summer went by before I decided to try again.
The next time I tried, gas was overflowing from the lower carb. I waited for a while again, due to finances, and just had someone soak the two top carbs and rebuild the bottom one. It starts, but runs rough and sputters and stalls after about 10 seconds.
If I disconnect the yellow wire to put it into emergeny mode, it runs smoothly and doesn't die out, but as the book says, it provides just enough emergency power to "get into harbor". I was told that it must be electrical, perhaps the choke.
Has anyone with this motor any suggestions?
I would like to find someone who has a meter to see if it is throwing a code.
