Just bought a 1999 Pathfinder 17 tunnel hull with a 50 Yamaha 2 stroke on the back of it. Boat will start right up but is having two problems. Sometimes (not all the time) you will engage the motor and the boat will fail to develop power. Just bogs down and dies. Usually, after a few revs with it not in gear, you can then get power to develop and away you go. The second problem began yesterday. I would be underway running about 4500 rpm and the boat would slowly loose power.

I called the previous owner and asked if he ever used ethanol. He said that he had from time to time. Down here in the Florida Keys, we have gas stations that offer non-ethanol blends which I use faithfully. What all do I need to do to fix this motor. I'm going to replace fuel line and bulb, strip down and clean carbs. Anything else I need to do?
