    Default 1987 yamaha 50 2-stroke

My motor is locked in the up position and in the lake. Is there a screw i can loosen to manually let my motor down long enough to take it out of the lake to look at the problem?? First time user needs help.

    Thanks, yankee/reb

There is a small hole(opening) on one side or the other of trim bracket. You can use a large flathead screwdriver to loosen screw, to relieve pressure from power trim/tilt
