175 Yamaha Saltwater Series (2 stroke)
Going to look at a boat with this engine, any problem areas? What should compression be?

The best and only real way to evaluate the motor is with a sea trial on the water for about an hour, checking cold starts, idle, mid range cruising and wide open throttle.....Otherwise you could buy a pig-in-a-poke/problem motor. Good Luck!

A compression test is always a good start.I would expect in excess of 100PSI and all cylinders within 8%. A low compression cylinder is a dead give away that the motor is in trouble
