Default Whats the smallest boat you had/seen a wakeboard pylon or tower on?

Whats the smallest boat you had/seen a wakeboard pylon or tower on?

I have a 1972 15.5 ft starcraft tri hull capri that I want to put a 7 foot pole in...

I have pretty much everything I need to start the project. I think the boat has enough motor for it. But I bet the handling will be crap when I'm pulling a 200 lb person from a pickpoint 7 feet off the deck. Most people I pull are 160 lbs. I'm going to put the pole between the drivers and passenger front seat.

I'd like to build a tower for the boat, but that might just be rediculus. And I don't want that added weight.

    i've seen towers on seadoos.

the pole will work fine as long as you run a strap around the bow too. plus everyone has to mess around with proper weighting so don't be surprised if you need to do some fine tuning.

you could also buy or make something like this...fly high monkey bar

I started family boarding with a 15' 1985 Bayliner with a 50hp Force motor to pull 120 lb kids. I moved to a larger boat but here is how I made this work on the 15..

I built a collapsable tripod in the front bolted to the inside bolts of the bow eye and the other legs resting against the bulkhead in front of the windshield. THis MUST be secured down! I Used handly iron I had from electical projects.

THe 50 HP did NOT have enough to pop them out of the water but remember I am now pulling from the bow not the stern. WHen I would hit power the boat, of course, would squat down in the stern at which moment I, the helmsman, would step HARD in the bow. This would force, the now raise bow, to drop effectively popping them out of the water. It was the dropping of the bow that popped them not the HP. Once popped the 50 towed them fine.
A bit funky but it worked.
