Volvo Penta Gimbal Bearing Tool

Will this tool work on a 2005 Volvo Penta SX-M:

I would like to use the alignment, gimbal bearing and seal to replace the components on my outdrive. If this tool will not work, any other suggestions on where to buy or create my own tool?

The Merc and Volvo tools are exactly the same. I don't think I would want to use an alignment bar for hammering in a gimbal bearing like that tool does, If the alignment is off while you are doing it, you could really damage the coupler, along with the bar.
If you have access to a lathe, you can make your own, up in the Adults only sticky, look at the Mercruiser information link, there is a drawing for the alignment bar.

Ayuh,... Granted, the ad is severely lacking Good info,...
It appears there'd be no protrusion during the bearing driving, with the proper spacer installed on the bar...
So, it should work Fine for drivin' gimbel bearings...
The spacer is even relieved to push on the bearing properly...

Not sure I get the 2nd spacer thing though...
