Volvo Penta fuel problems

5.7 volvo penta runs fine under power but when I come down to idle it will all of a sudden starve for fuel or when anchored go to start it will fire then same thing if i pump the throttle it will finally get fuel and away we go.

5.7 GXI Fuel injected

Also when coming to a no wake I have to put it in neutral and bring RPM up to 2000 and it will run for 5min or so then I can here it starting to starve for fuel so I start pumping throttle and it will finally get fuel I use the other engine to get through the no wake they are both 5.7 GXI fuel injested

I had the same issue . I tore into my fuel pump on my 2006 volvo pento 5.0 . Yes there was paint chips just like eveyone else . claened out and also replace fuel res o rings . runs great now
