Volvo DP 290 Power Trim Replacement

I have twin Volvo DP 290 outdrives and the power trim needs replaceing on both drives. Has anyone taken on this project? I am planning on doing this soon as the weather breaks a little and was looking for some pointers or advise on this job. Also the OEM book says you can use motor oil in the lower unit??? What do you guys think??

Have you determined what your problem is? It could be one of several. On your outdrive, what is the year of your boat and the serial number of your outdrive? I would be glad to help you if you would like to call me. I have been a Volvo dealer for many years and have numerous new and used parts. On the oil you can use straight weight 30 weight motor oil.
