volvo 3.0 GS fuel filter - year 1999

Got the fuel filter and it seems to made up of a stone like material blueish type color. It's from NAPA. The boat is not available to me now so I can't check. Does this seem right. I was expecting a paper type filter.

That's what is in mine (2001 3.0 GS) . There also should be a gasket in the kit that goes above the blue filter. The metal bowl under the fuel pump comes off after removing the single screw on the bottom, then you'll see how the new one goes in.
