Volvo 250 antifreeze leak

i have a Volvo penta 250. 18' glassply

over the winter i noticed a small (couple of drops) of antifreeze in the bilge.

i couldn't find were it is coming from. somewhere above the belt midline.

after my second trip there was ALOT in he bilge not to mention all over the engine.

i have it mored right now and would like to do repairs myself.

any idea were the leak is coming from and what do i need to do a pressure test myself.

and can i use fresh water only ( instead of antifreeze) for the time being?
i ruled out it being over filed as it leaked when not running.

i would not like to pull it outa the water any time soon as my trailer is under heavy construction at this time.

Get a radiator tester and presurize the system from the heat exchanger cap. Every hose, seal, gasket, tube, circ pump, etc, is suspect. No since guessing as to what might be leaking. I doesn't help a bit to guess.

with the antifreeze in or out.

Seems to me if it just leaks while sitting there, that if you pressurize it and look around with antifreeze still in it, you should be able to see it leaking.
If not, drain the system, then pressurize it with air and start spraying some soapy water on things. If it starts bubbling, you have found a leak.

i pressure tested the closed system and it seemed fine.

i tested the cap and think it was shot.

i bought a new cap and ran her at idle for 5 minutes and everything seemed fine.

i hope it was just the cap.
