    Default fix oil leak without engine removal?

    5.0L FI PNCACE engine leaking oil at 90 dip stick fitting/oil pan. Any options without taking to shop? Thanks

    Ayuh,.... My guess is, yer gonna need to pull the motor to replace that fitting....
    Any Grease is Better,..... Than No Grease at All.......

    Once again, thank you Don S. I couldn't find exploded view in my online manual. Do you know if fitting thru oil pan is (pipe) threaded or backed by nut? If threaded, it seems limiting since it has to tighten and seal in the one position where dip stick connects. If it is backed by a nut in oil pan, then engine has to be pulled, I think. Anyway, thanks for responding.


    Never mind. I think I understand how the fitting works, now.

    Never mind. I think I understand how the fitting works, now.
    Ayuh,... I think you'll find the pan fitting is held by a banjo nut, 'n copper washers...

    The dipstick tube, I believe is a flared fitting...

    No reason for a backer nut, inside the pan,... the pan is threaded...
    Any Grease is Better,..... Than No Grease at All.......
