1997 Volvo 4.3 gs Fuel Pump

I'm looking for a fuel pump for my 1997 Volvo 4.3 gs. Is there any way to find the part number so I can order a pump. If I had the number I could cross reference it to another brand. My parent own an Auto Value, and they can get about any part, but we have no way of looking them up.

What is wrong with your pump? Are you sure it's the pump?????

the pump was stuck, then I got it going but it leaks around the wire fittings on the top of the pump, and make a bad squealing sound.

One other question, what makes the fuel pum p relay turn on, I had to jump the relay connection to get my pump to work, I bought the boat not running, so I don't know if there is some sort of a switch or safety mechanism to make the pump start.
