Below is what the Coast Guard requires for display of the capacity info.
183.25 Display of markings.(a) Each marking required by Sec. 183.23 must be permanently displayed in a legible manner where it is clearly visible to the operator when getting the boat underway.
Don't know where the manufacturer decided that was on your boat, but normally this would be on the center console or on the bulkhead next to the helm station, or maybe in the motor well. Good luck.
Normally on the starboard side near the rear of the boat by the motorwell.
OK, thanks guys I now know where it should be but it ain't. how can I get a new one? What happens if you are checked and there isn't one? This is a 20' boat with only 2 seats, strictly for fishin'. at most I have 5 people on board and 2 of them are my 6 and 3 year old kids.jamielong
Don't know, but maybe you can start by asking around at:Brunswick Boat Group

Trophy and a bunch of other boats are part of them. Or maybe check with your local Coast Guard station and see what they'd require in the way of capacity info in the absence of a plate? Good luck.
To figure the horsepower rating yourself take a look at the Coast Guard "SAFETY STANDARDS FOR BACKYARD BOAT BUILDERS" at http://www.uscg.mil/d8/mso/louisvill...bp16761_3b.pdf
I have a 93 Trophy 20 foot. it has a top horse power ratting of 175hp. Enjoy your Trophy, I love mine.
PS I have a 150hp on mine and it has plenty of power.
