    Default Trailer axle/hub grease

I just bought a used trailer this last week and noticed a bunch of grease on the axle side of the hub on the starboard side. The grease is all over the place and all over the inside of the rim. Anyone know what might be wrong? Where to begin in regards to repairs?

sounds like the rear seal needs replaced, while your in there you may as well check the bearings and races and repack it all

If your hubs have bearing buddies installed, it could be that you are overfilling them.

Yes, there are bearing buddies installed on this trailer. Since I don't know any history on this trailer, I'll probably replace all the seals, check the bearings and repack.

    Thanks guys.

Most likely the rear seals on the hub are bad. Its pretty easy to change though. hopefully the seal still is there and the part # thats imprinted on the seal rubber is still there so you can cross reference. Repack the bearings. if they feel good and dont have rust or pitting repack them and put new seals and fill them back up with grease
