tongue weight

what would the tongue weight be for a 89 cuddy cabin 19.5 feet 4.3 motor.single axle.i can lift the front very easy . thanks

You must be in good shape or the boat is not balance well on the trailer. Figure 2400 pounds boat wet, 600 pounds trailer, 200 pounds gear = 3200 pounds. Trailer should be rated for 3500, tongue weight should be 10%= 320 pounds.

If you can pick that up you are way too much tongue light. An accident waiting to happen the trailer is going to whip on you. The above post has it right.Better to be tongue heavy than light.

we moved it back 14 inches ,tongue weight is now 270. thanks again
