    Default A Little Trailer Rust

I was out the other day using some rubbing compound to remove oxidation on my boat and I didn't like the little rust spots on my white trailer.

I decided to rub the rust spots a little bit with the rubbing compound and the rust came off a little bit. I then decided to use one of those green scrubby pads with the rubbing compound and before I knew it I had nearly half the trailer looking almost like new.

Quite honestly it wasn't that hard and it was nice to see that rust disappear. Just a thought for those of you with a little bit of trailer rust.

Good reason not to get a white trailer...too easy to see the rust.

Galvanised is great but I bought my outfit for the boat / outboard combination and not the trailer. Consequently my trailer had flaking paint and much surface rust. I have almost finished the refurb job, I just have to put a finishing coat on the fenders (primed at present) and it is ready to winterise the boat on. Lot of scraping, sanding etc for a few weekends and every available evening.

Hey bondo, thats smart. Paint it to look like rust and nobody will notice when it really does rust.
