I've got a 20' bowrider that I pull with my half ton truck. I need to make a winch adjustment and thought I'd adjust for the tongue weight as well. It's heavy now, I'm guessing over 100 lbs. What should it be?
Thanks.

7% to 15% of gross trailer weight depending on the source. Trailer manufacturers tend to suggest 7%. I prefer 10% as do many others on this forum.
10% of total weight. 100 lbs is light for a 20 ft bowrider.

Don't move the winch. Move the axle cradle.
I'm in the 10% club as well.

I can tell you one thing about my 20' bowrider, I can't lift the tongue off my hitch by hand, have to use the trailer jack, now once it's off the hitch and jacked all way up I usually lift it up even farther for drainage and it's a real struggle sometimes get the little one to put the brick under the jack wheel.
