i have seen 31 ish , seems i should do better????? any ideas?

I have the 75 HP Optimax on mine and the speedo will read 43-44, but it probably GPS's at 40 MPH. Your speed doesn't sound too far off for the 4 stroke. I guess make sure you are on top of the water all the way.
What are your RPM's when maxed out? What Prop do you have?

2006 tracker pro team 175 60hp mercury bigfoot SS prop, 42mph speedo consistantly. Seen as high as 44mph.

Adjust your motor tilt (Pitch) while driving,you can pick up 5 mph...i ran mine at 35,w/three people on board.(I have a 60 Merc (EFI)

We would need to know a little more information to give you a better answer.. What was the RPM at WOT? Is this a new boat? Is this what it has done all along? Have you changed the prop or any thing?

My buddy has the same type (only a few years older and 2 stoke) it GPS's at 40

I've got the 90 on mine and I've gotten 43mph on glass on the GPS with two in the boat and gear.

One funny tidbit--I have a 150hp on a Ranger 354v and I can only do 40-45 tops (because my wife is with me alot--she doesn't want to go any faster than that)

What RPM you guys running WOT?

4800-5100.....I found that if you adjust your plane,it will increase your speed. Play with the trim,it will make the difference.
