merc sport jet 1994 vs 1995

I have a 1994 motor and have the chance to buy a 1995 for parts. The pictures of the 95 look VERY similar but also many of electronics, ( regulator, coils, control module ) are distinctly different. Are the difference merely cosmetic or will they NOT function on my 94 ??? Parts for these units are like hens teeth but if they done work it would be a waste of money----thanx in advance for any help----

pull the parts diagram for both serial numbers and look.

if they look different, chances are they are different.

as I said --I am new to this--where would I get these diagrams ??
