I just got an '89 16 foot DLX model. It has wooden seats that are in very good condition. The boat came with a canvas cover that has been doing its job. But the seats are a bit faded, and from the edge definitely look to be plywood of some sort and almost look unprotected. The tops of the seats almost look like they have some sort of resin coating, but not like a homeowner glass job.
I want to keep the seats in good shape and am curious what others found to be both protective and durable. I have read here about West system epoxy, but wondered if what is there from the factory has any bearing on what should go on next.
Thanks for your time
Dave
