is the hull clear coated?

I am refreshing a 1989 Sea Nymph with my son. We had fun all summer with this boat (rotten floors and all) and now I am about done with the refresh of the inside (I still have to restore the console). The outside is in pretty good shape but has been sitting for a while, so the bottom of the hull is pretty ugly. I was going to get on my back and start polishing, but I wondered if the aluminum was clear-coated. I thought I read once they were, and I don't want to make it worse.

Any help is appreciated.

Do you know if they are anodized? It looks polished just oxidized. any way to tell for sure (other than color)? Some of the polishes state not for anodized aluminum.
