Why are some regulators way more expensive than others? For my engine (2005 6.2L MPI), 885174, it averages around $300.
I know there have been many posts regarding the use of Merc parts versus the automotive equivalents. Is there an automotive equivalent for this regulator?
I know there are potential pros/cons of not using Merc parts, just trying to gather all info to make a decision.

If it holds pressure at 43 psi +/- a tad from idle to WOT, it's good.
Only issue is will it last. At under $40 I would be willing to try
