My buddy Dave. What a guy. Dave was a bit of a tipper years ago. On fishing trips, he would usually polish off the best part of a 12 pack before reaching the lake, not to mention what he drank after we hit the water. By mid morning he would often begin to get sleepy and would often doze off while still sitting upright in his seat, rod and reel in hand. Any loud noise would bring him back around and so as not to let anyone know he had fallen asleep, he would cast his lure out like he'd been fishing all along. I caught him dozing early one afternoon while we were fishing a tournament. I gently backed the boat up near the bank, where there was a lot of brush and trees just a few feet from the water line. When I got into position, I yelled "DAVE", and then it happened. He jumped and gave his rod a super-hard throw to what he thought was open water. His lure didn't go but a few feet into the trees, but his reel is still spinning. Had to reline that one for sure.........
