how do I repack the gas valve on the bottom of the fuel tank to get it to stop leaking? Also how Deep does the motor need to be in the water to ensure propper cooling for this motor?

most I have seen are packed with an small O ring, they usally send one with the carb kits

Sorry I overlooked that part of your question, if you will send me a private message PM I will show you the correct depth for your motor rather than try to describe how its should be mounted but just for the sake of it you want the cavitation plate about level with the bottom of the the transom or there abouts.

I have a 1972 eska 1703D 3.5hp motor. does anyone know if the float bowl screw is just a bolt or an adjustable main jet? does anyone know where I could find one or what I could match it up to?
