3000 controller question

Hi folks. I’m new to iboats. I had to replace the wood and upholstery on my boat. I took off the controller (3000 Quicksilver). I just Laid it to the side, I never messed with the insides. I reinstalled it on the new panel. Same position. It works fine. But….before the install You would push the neutral high rev button and move the handle forward. Now it only works pushing it backwards ( toward reverse). What happened?

It would normally work F or R in throttle only, so something moved or sticking. Might need some grease, but either way needs to come apart to figure it out or could start working again over time

Sounds like you removed the handle in one gear direction in which is normally full wide-open throttle forward in which you'd do to remove the handle to get the button out without damaging the button.

When you remove the button, it's usually best to bring the handle back straight up to neutral locked gear then remove the center bolt.

So depending on where the handle was left, the alignment is most likely off center.

Need to remove the handle and find where it will work normal in all directions.
