    Default Livewell question

    I have a 08 Q6SF and can't figure out my livewell.
I assume I have to have the plug in the bottom and can switch either automatic or manual. When I switch it to either location it spits about 4 or 5 tablespoons of water into the well then I can just hear the pump running. Any ideas?

Either your feed line is blocked by foreign object or bad impeller on the pump. If you can get to the pump, try blowing compressed air in the tubes in opposite direction. Don't go towards feed or you may lodge blockage further. If there's no blockage, then its your impeller.

Right break, what do you think of your Tahoe? Any complaints (except for your livewell)?

I'm also curious about how comfortable the front deck is to fish from...

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I have a 2001 Q3 f/s ob and no plug is used on it.Their is a switch on the starbord side below the throddle that is turned to right to empty left to fill. On the dash the switch auto/off/manuel and the auto runs about every 10 min or so. My pump has a valve in it that will draw water when stopped then closes when under was as to not siphen out water. It will just circulate water if under way of if boat is out of the water as when I bring my ketch home I leave it in the well and the fish are fine when I get home. Here are some pics of mine hope it helps.

I like it pretty well. For the price it can't be beat. It can definatly use some smart tabs as its very hard to control at idle speeds. Plenty fast with the 190 hp but I havent pulled skiers or boarders on it yet. Have tubed but you know how that is.

I always fish from the front and my wife fishes of the back the front chair is ok with the pole you put the seat on but its kinda got a s to is and you need to adjust it alot especially when trolling around which would be nice to have a foot controller too.

    Hope that answers your q's.

Do you think I would have a fill/empty switch, or is that something they have done away with?

It could be something that was changed, could you take a few pics of your builg area to sse what the pump looks like.Do you have the owners manel for the boat,as mine has a description of it and basics on it's operation.

I lost the owners manual the day I bought the boat. I left all kinds of manuals on my bumper when I drove off. Anyway here are a few pics of what i've got going on.

This one is my live well switch

This is where he had his under the throttle but of course mine isnt there.

This is the pump I think it goes to the live well on the other side of the foam.

    Inside the well

This is where the little water that goes in comes from.

    Any help is very appreciated.

This may sound rediculous, but, did you check the back on the outside of the transom? Mine has rubber plugs that need to be removed, similar to the plug in the bottom of the livewell. (Discharge side)

Ok im not the smartest... I took the boat out today and decided i was either going to burn it up or get it to work. I found out that I wasnt waiting long enough for it to pump the water in. It takes around two minutes to get water into the well. Thanks for the help.

Overall, I'm happy with the Q6SF. it gives everyone in the family some of what they want.

Regarding the front fishing deck, I made a plywood deck for the front, so I can stand up there to bass fish. I take out the cushions and drop in the deck when it's time to fish.

I cut a hand-hole (for carrying and inserting the deck) right where the seat post mount is, so I can use the seat mount (haven't yet.)

Here's another dump question....how do you drain the livewell? My Q5i SF's livewell is the standard aerator pump on the side with drain plug on the bottom. When you pull out the plug it does not drain. Must the boat be out of the water to drain?

I have the same setup. It will drain while in the water, it just takes awhile.

Good to know that it will eventually drain. Sure beats using my bailer bucket!

    Better get some patience.

    Thanks!
