lower unit

Hi can anyone give me any advice on this I just took my lower unit apart model# FDL-21 and the copper tube has a small hole in it,should that be there? It's about a 1/3 the way down the tube. I want to redo the seals and impeller with new t-stat, Thank you

Thanks R.Johnson that had me worried now I just need to find the parts.I heard napa sells them. Not sure if they do here in western Pa,
