Mariner o/b's

I checked out a boat the other day that had a 1987 75h/p Mariner on it. I dont have any experience with Mariners.Ive never been in a boat with one never had one never even put gas in one. Are they any good? It has a prop right now but the guy has a pump for it. How hard is it to change from prop to jet? Thanks for any info. tk

tinknocker,<br /><br />Mariners are Mercury's with a different paint scheme-that's it.<br /><br />I'll defer to the jet experts here on the conversion. You will lose a lot of horsepower though.

30-35% loss of power on the jets compared to prop-drive...... :)
